S J Reed and Son Electrical Engineers are committed to working towards implementing the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) guidelines for WCAG 2.0 (published 2008) http://www.w3.org/WAI/intro/wcag.php/. As such, this is an ongoing development process to meet these WCAG 2.0 guidelines. The objective of WCAG 2.0 is to make websites accessible to persons with disabilities. Our website has been tested and is compatible in the following browsers:

Text Attributes

All images used on our website are labelled with 'alt attributes'.

Where internal/external links are used within our web pages, hypertext is used to describe these links so that if the link is read out of context, it is still understandable.


Adjusting Text Size

Users with a visual impairment can select the option of increasing or decreasing the text size on any our web pages. This option can be selected by pressing Ctrl and '+'.


Contrast

We have tried to ensure that the text on the website and the background colour provides contrast for the user. The background colour of our website is grey, text colour is black and headings are purple.

Also, in the accessibility panel you can choose to change the contrast of certain areas of text to white on a black background.

Navigation

A HTML sitemap provides the user with a summary of all pages on our website.

Our Website Standards

Our website is built to W3C HTML 4.01 standards and W3C CSS standards level 2.1. Our website uses Cascading Style Sheets.
